About Me
I remember my first leadership role. It was challenging, and it was something I felt unprepared for. Being in a Leadership role was never something I aspired to do. I needed new skills. In addition to learning on the job, I enrolled in the Masters in Healthcare Management program at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Since then, I have never stopped learning and working to make healthcare better.
I am passionate about helping clinical leaders improve health systems, and my favorite engagements are the ones in which clients stretch as they take on new and meaningful challenges. Two other areas of specialization I have enjoyed are 1) helping Chief Medical Information Officers with their unique challenges, 2) helping brilliant clients who had a tendency to antagonize those with whom they worked.
I was trained at the Center for Executive Coaching and The Generative Knowledge Institute, and I have completed the requirements for certification from the International Coaching Federation (ICF-ACC). I also read and study extensively to learn different theories and practices. I don’t rely on one framework, but rather I pull concepts from many teachings.
In addition to being an executive coach, I was the Chief Medical Officer for Acesis Inc.., supported improving clinical research as a board member for SASI, was the Chief Information Officer of Harvard University Health Services, and taught courses in information technology and healthcare management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Also, from 2020 to 2023, I was the host for the Coalition for Physician Well-Being’s monthly podcast, The Well-being Connector.
Finally, I graduated from New York University School of Medicine with an MD and an MS (Cell Biology). I trained in Internal Medicine at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, and then performed a two-year research fellowship at the Scripps Research Institute. In 2007, I went back to school, and graduated from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health with a Masters in Healthcare Management (SM).
